summer has come on strong. it's like when you're
walking along, slipping around in your own thoughts,
and, suddenly there's a jarring sensation that
makes you clack your teeth.
you realize there was a step there; a drop-off.
that's the way the courtship from spring to summer has
gone in texas this year. normally, spring likes to flirt with
us a bit, giving us little flashes of what's to come. and really
that's always the best part, right? this summer has
arrived naked, with a one-track mind.
everything to offer right there on the table
like the floozy she is. kabam.
well, here's to being the heat.
i'm going to try to leave the complaints at the bedroom
threshold and climb right into bed with the randiest
season i know.
